Periodic emergency response drills are vital.

Taking care of the injured and saving lives is serious business. In addition, it is very important that various care providers act properly and adequately. In addition to acting correctly in the event of an incident, communication is of vital importance.

When our Head of Emergency Response received a last minute phone call regarding a minor shift in the agenda of the gentlemen of the Fire Department, he seized this opportunity with both arms on behalf of Rietveld Logistics Group. Theory is good, but we like practice!

Part of our emergency response team was represented, together with 38 firefighters from the municipality of Oosterhout to tackle the scenarios. The fire brigade arrived with 4 vehicles.

First scenario: A fire starts and the forklift driver is shocked and pins his colleague against the wall. The emergency response team provided first aid to the victim and the fire brigade took care of the fire.

Then following the second scenario: scaling up due to lost compartment and extinguishing from roof due to preservation of adjacent compartments.

There is often no shortage of creative screenwriters. But it turned out that we were not inconvenient for skilled firefighters and trained emergency response officers.

It was an intense evening. We would like to thank the fire brigade of the municipality of Oosterhout for their knowledge, skills and time. And on behalf of Rietveld Logistics Group, we would like to thank our BHV colleagues for their efforts.
